Browser-based vs cloud LinkedIn automation: the 2026 ban-rate data

Almost every LinkedIn outreach tool falls into one of two architectural buckets, and the bucket determines the ban risk far more than how the tool is used. Cloud-IP tools run on a SaaS company's servers. You give the tool your LinkedIn credentials (or a session cookie), and it logs in as you from a server somewhere in AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean. Browser-based extensions pass all of these tests because they're operating inside the user's actual browser session — which is, by definition, the real user's session. Cloud tools have to manufacture every one of these signals from scratch, and they do it imperfectly.
